Please note the Birthday Party for this month will be held on January 26th. In January the following individuals will celebrate their birthday; Babs Fowler, Byron King, Maureen Kennedy, Melanie Taylor, Randy Fowler, Stephen Dumaresque, and Tom Walsh. We will be serving hotdogs and cake.

Christmas Stocking Sweep

Many thanks for your continued support of our Christmas stocking sweep in aid of our clients’ recreation program. The winning number was #0574 claimed by Mrs. Rose Crewe. This draw was a tremendous success! Congratulations on a job well done!

Thank You

We would like to extend our thanks and gratitude to the Clarke Family for their support again this year. The Haunted Garage at Halloween raised $2500.00. A tremendous Success! Alvin, Betty, Dana, Eileen and family, it is very much appreciated!

Recycling Program

Many thanks for your support of our recycling program. This past year we raised $2100.00. Just fantastic! This month we are designating Thursday, January 3rd, 2019 as a recycling blitz day for our program. If you or any of your friends have recyclables that you might like to donate to our program, we would appreciate them. Recyclables can be dropped off at the Perlin Centre and we will take them to the recycling depot. All monies go directly to our client recreation fund. As per government regulations, please ensure to remove straws, bottle stoppers etc. Your continued support of our programs is greatly appreciated.

Respite Payroll

As you are aware the Vera Perlin Society is a non-profit, charitable organization which provides services and supports to individuals living with a developmental disability.
As a charity we are always looking at new ways to generate revenue in order to support the services we offer. One area we are actively trying to develop is our Respite Payroll Service. We offer administration of payroll to individuals who require respite care.
The payroll service is a benefit to the individuals who receive the respite funding as they do not have to worry about the administration or funding of the payroll. The Vera Perlin Charitable Foundation will also benefit as any revenues generated from doing this service are redirected to the programs we offer and then in turn benefit all clients of The Vera Perlin Society.
This letter is to ask you to consider having the Vera Perlin Charitable Foundation as your payroll service provider. We currently administer a professional, dependable payroll service and would like the opportunity to do yours.
For additional information on this service you can call Mavis Roberts at the Vera Perlin Society’s Head Office, 739-6017, or you could reach Mavis via e-mail, payroll@veraperlinsociety.ca.
We would appreciate your consideration to provide your payroll services.

Coins for Prizes

We are continuing with collecting coins for prizes for our clients’ activities and special events. Many thanks to Jim Casey and his friends of the Hearn Distributing Hockey Team for your $820.00! This allowed us to provide a prize for all clients who attend the annual Christmas party. Once again, I kindly thank you for your support and ask that if you have any loose coin lying around in your pocket, purse or drawer and would like to donate them, please send them along. Many thanks for your generosity. Your kindness and support is greatly appreciated.

Hats, Mitts and Colds

As the temperatures are cold, please ensure your son/daughter is wearing their hat, mitts, winter boots and coat etc. at all times and that the coat is all buttoned/zippered up before leaving home. I kindly ask that if your son/daughter has a head cold or any flu like symptoms that you keep them at home to limit the spreading of these colds and germs to the other clients at the Centre.
